Their new book, Leaving Home, is the ultimate survival guide to leaving home and starting a life of your own. Entertaining and informative, it will help you survive the dramas, the disappointments – even the disgusting roommate.
If you’ve already left home and found that you’ve ruined all your clothes since doing your own washing, set fire to the dryer because you didn’t know how to check the lint filter and given your friends food poisoning, then you really need this book.
And it can help those parents left at home, too. They can rest assured their children are in safe hands – and stop getting those annoying phone calls detailing the most recent emergency. They may even learn a thing or two themselves!
‘We have done everything in this book: the good, the bad and the stupid,’ the authors explain.
‘We’ve cooked some appalling meals, smashed the washing machine lid on our nose, gone flying on damp floors, forgotten the shopping list, flooded the laundry floor, and died of embarrassment when friends and family have called around when the house resembles a bombsite.
‘If you’re leaving home for the first time, or even if you suddenly find yourself without a partner who was always responsible for finding and running a household, you’ll find all the information you need in this commonsense, step-by-step guide.’
Covering everything from renting advice, sharing with friends, money saving tips, credit card debt, economic shopping ideas, and how not to be conned or ‘ripped off’, Leaving Home will give you an advantage over others, who are struggling every day just to get by.
Originally self-published, the authors were amazed by the response from reader’s who had been crying out for such a book. Now updated and expanded and released throughout the book trade in Australia and New Zealand.
